Paperphone, the next generation Smartphone




Cell phones with physical buttons with tactile current Smartphone, the interaction between man and the mobile has changed remarkably. Recently, researchers at Queen's University in Ontario have introduced a new interface for Smartphone of tomorrow through the concept Paperphone.

Paperphone is a cellphone whose physical characteristics are more like those of a sheet of paper. A prototype has already been done in collaboration with the University of Arizona. Its interface is a fine screen and flexible. To control this next-gen Smartphone, just fold one side of the screen, depending on the menu. Here, the folds are the new intuitive way to control the device. Moreover, this 9.5-inch screen is also touch. Paperphone uses electronic ink e-ink reading lights like Kindle. So far, Paperphone displays black and white with a self-existent because the device can operate by being connected.

According to Dr. Roel Vertegaal, a leading designer, this represents the future of mobile Smartphones and possibly laptops. He adds that the product will be on the market within 5-10 years.
