All-in-one, why not?

Although laptops have made great progress in recent years, the all-in-one and keep the advantage thanks to the use of components "desktop" more muscular. If this is not very visible for office or media, those who perform intensive tasks like editing have a vested interest to use a stationary machine. The video game is a somewhat special case. For reasons of temperature, it is mainly from the world of mobile chips that are used in the all-in-one. Players will be hard-therefore better off with a more traditional tour. Note that miniaturization has not abandoned this area, as there are now very compact towers capable of carrying the full power of a desktop machine.

A little late

Another feature of the all-in-one, they are overdue! More precisely, they tend to use components built in the previous generation. This is due to a lack of standard which requires manufacturers to dip into components either desktop, mobile and sometimes to get all in a suitable chassis. Consequently, only Apple and Acer use the platform next-generation Intel (Sandy Bridge), the other products tested merely the last. The same is to the side of the graphics chips that often one or two generations behind. Storage and RAM are the only standardized components and it is sometimes possible to change them yourself, although this is much more difficult than on a conventional tower.

Touch of little interest

Last major feature of these all-in-one, they are mostly tactile. With the notable exception of Apple, all the computers in this comparison can be controlled with the fingertips. Unfortunately if the material itself is of good quality, the software part is lagging behind. The fault lies mainly with Windows 7, basically designed for use with the mouse. The number of programs planned for the Touch is also very low ... All manufacturers are trying to improve the situation somewhat with one side overlays more or less developed and the other suitable equipment. The all-in-one Acer and HP for example, can bend almost horizontally, which is much more comfortable in use touchscreen. Both manufacturers offer also overlays the most successful, but with a little edge to that of HP. Salvation can come from Windows 8, he thought from the beginning to the touch, but for the time this function is relatively gadget.
