Super Mario Bros.: The first level contained in Minecraft

Two players Minecraft have made up his mind to recreate the first level of the Game Boy version of Super Mario Bros. in Stop Motion, and it simply with blocks and objects "crafted."

18 million units and 500 hours later, these artists have players completed a video of 2 minutes and 22 seconds. For this achievement, they reproduced a Boy Giant 1:1 scale in the construction mode of Minecraft. The screen of the copy contains 160 blocks of 144 blocks, or the exact definition of the console original. Like the Game Boy, so there are 23,040 pixels, or blocks in the case of Minecraft.
The two young men of 21 and 29 years had to fill all the boxes one by one moving on their card Minecraft. "What you see is the 100% Minecraft. Each pixel of the screen is a block of wool, "says Whright, one of the designers.

To meet this challenge; they used an emulator to replay the first level of the game and save it. Then they cut the video frame by frame. It only remained to reproduce them in Minecraft. After each picture, they took the height above the screen of the Game Boy and fixed drawing in a screenshot. According to the pair, it took about four weeks, working six to seven hours a day to create all the plans of the level. Then it only remained to complete the installation.

After the line, even Markus Persson (Notch), the creator of Minecraft, was impressed with the work. Initially, he thought even the deception. To prove their good faith, James Wright and Joe Ciappa released a making-off.
