New iPad: 8 reasons not to call it iPad 3 - III


iOS 5.1 now available

Just before the presentation of his new iPad, Apple announced the availability of the latest version of its mobile OS, IOS 5.1. On the menu there are new including the ability to remove (finally) pictures of her flow, the generalization of the shortcut to the camera from the locked screen, the arrival of the face detection function, the correction of problems autonomy to some terminals and finally resolving a bug that could silence it for the issuance of a call. iLife iPhoto complete

iLife for iOS, which already includes Garage Band and iMovie, gains a new mobile application: iPhoto. Like its big sister for Mac, it allows to manage your library of photos, but has adapted to the touch screen of 9.7 inch tablet. One can set the color, correct red eyes, darken a picture or create albums to share. Multitouch, iPhoto offers a variety of filters, brushes and sharing features. Note that the application, sold € 3.99, is universal and therefore also compatible with iPhone 4 and 4S as well as the iPad 2.

Pricing and Availability

No surprises on the side of the price, which remains unchanged from previous versions. The first prize, which is the WiFi 16 GB model, is 489 €. It will then add € 100 to change to 32 GB model (589 €) and finally the 64GB is € 694. The first version WiFi + 4G (16GB) will be sold at € 609, both 32 GB to 709 € and finally the WiFi version + 4G 64 GB to 814 €. Good news, the iPad 2 remains in the catalog and lowers its price: the WiFi model is € 409 while WiFi + 3G version goes for 529 €. However, more than 32-GB or 64 GB on the Apple site.
