Tired of only finding games on Steam? Good news, the online platform opens the software
from the September 5. Anyway, Mark Richardson (product manager at Valve) seems convinced
that users seek something else about the service. In the press release, it
indicates that the arrival of the software is only a response to the demand of 40
million gamers that use Steam.
The various distributed software will benefit from the same advantages of the platform, such as Automatic Updates or the backup in the Cloud. Even independent developers can offer their applications through the Project Greenlight - community chooses those who deserve to be distributed via Steam.
We remember the wrath of Gabe Newell about Windows 8. Today we understand a little better its response, the Store of the new Microsoft OS by now clearly competes with Steam.
