According to AdAge,
Twitter prepares the introduction of
ads based on the
geographic location of users by
the end of this year. Location-based advertising is a holy grail for
advertisers and who are offering online
services. And Twitter is about to catch up
with Facebook in this area.
According AdAdge, the micro blogging site
is preparing for the arrival of advertisements based on the geographical position for the fourth quarter. The
system push targeted ads to users around specific latitudes and
longitudes. It will allow advertisers to offer discounts on their products or to report any sign of a person's
presence nearby. Twitter already offers sponsored tweets based on certain metropolitan areas. A more targeted system would
allow it to catch up on Facebook
offering advertisements based on postal codes of its
members since 2011.
