Acer Iconia A1
IPS display, quad-core processor, twelve gigabytes of storage, newest Android 4.2.2 Acer Iconia A1 increases its buyers from the much more expensive iPad mini targeted users. Cheap tablets PCs, there are many, but none is really cheap. Either the processing is miserable or the manufacturer or some massive savings on the equipment. With the 7.9-inch Tablet Acer Iconia A1 opened now step for a price war: the brand manufacturer estimated for only 189 Euros. That's a whopping 140 Euros less than Apple’s cheapest iPad Mini version. Compared to the iPad, the Acer mini looks much bulkier. This is due to the height: 7.2 millimeters instead it brings the A1 to a whopping 11.1 millimeters. Moreover, it is clear with 398 grams heavier than the iPad (308 grams). And the low selling price you see at first glance: The touch screen is not made of a fine glass cover, but plastic - a strong hint when starting an app. In addition, the on-screen keys for entering texts are somewhat small. However, the touch screen responds very accurately and quickly to inputs. With its quad-core processor, the A1 works very fast. But this is also the latest android version 4.2.2 due: This operation works fast and smooth. For video calls, the A1 has a front camera, but resolves only with 640x480 pixels. The rear five-megapixel lens on the other hand, takes pretty decent photos and videos. The Acer shines on the paper with fantastic data: It tinkers with a quad-core processor; a 7.9-inch screen has twelve gigabytes of memory and the newest version of Android 4.2.2 on board. The 20.1-centimeter display offers 1024x768 pixels - which is exactly the same resolution as the iPad. The screen quality is still not moving to Apple Level: movies and photos are the A1 with some lackluster colors again; texts of books will appear slightly blurred. The speakers sound very good, but due to the design, music lovers can expect a feast for the ears. This is also true for the Apple tablet. The Acer offers like the iPad for apps, photos and videos twelve gigabytes of free storage. Thanks memory card reader allows expanding via microSD card up to 32 gigabytes (costs about 20 Euros). This option does not offer the iPad. No question, the handy tablet is indeed well made, but cannot deny the manufacturer cutbacks. Nevertheless, it is an inexpensive alternative to the expensive Apple device: Whether as message center for Facebook, or as a surf machine, navigation system or as an eBook reader - the Iconia A1 dominates everything a tablet can have. Nevertheless, Acer may have to manipulate so that the operating system works correctly with the hardware.
