Firefox Going To Use Cisco's H.264 Codec
Mozilla Firefox will use the H.264 module of Cisco in the future. Cisco's implementation of the H.264 codec will now be provided free and binary forms free with Cisco assumes all the obligations of patent licenses. The H.264 video codec is patented and licensed, the rights holders MPEG LA prevents a legal use of the codecs in free software.
Therefore, the Firefox browser cannot supports codec directly, but only through the integration of platform-specific frameworks like GStreamer on Linux or Windows ' Media Foundation. But this technique is not available on all systems. With the help of Cisco's H.264 implementation, the situation will change soon.
For the video codec to be available under a BSD license and are offered free in binary form for all major operating systems to download. All license obligations to the MPEG LA takes on Cisco, which allows software like Firefox to integrate Cisco's binary module as Mozilla's technical director Brendan Eich wrote.
But the browser is not already offered with the module for download. Rather Firefox to download and install a module when a user needs it. Users can also disable the settings. Mozilla continues to work on free codecs. For Mozilla as the possible support of H.264 is a very important achievement.
After all, a large part of the available HTML5 videos can encode with H.264, as well as video conferencing systems. Calibration for the integration of a patent is affected by binary file but not a particularly in the sense of free software. Therefore, the free VP8 codec will be further supported.
The ability to use the Cisco H.264 media module in Firefox should be possible in 2014 at the beginning of the year.

Silver Fox helps renewable energy engineers turn time into profit
The growing popularity of renewable – or ‘green’ – energy has seen a great many solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, or panels, appearing on the roofs of both commercial and domestic buildings in recent years. Using this ‘clean energy’ means that users reduce their carbon emissions by up to one tonne a year.
The solar PV cells convert solar radiation into direct current electricity and their numbers have been doubling every two years since 2002.
Solar PV systems can be built in various configurations, notably:
Off-grid without battery (array-direct)
Off-grid with battery storage for DC-only appliances
Off-grid with battery storage for AC and DC appliances
Grid-tie without battery
Grid-tie with battery storage
However, they all need to be appropriately and durably labelled – for the benefit of installation engineers and users alike. Providing these solar power labels - especially solar power warning labels has become a specialism of the UK-based labelling solutions manufacturer, Silver Fox.
Its solar panel warning labels are designed for use on solar PV system installations and comprise pre-printed warning labels produced to comply with DTI guidelines (DTI/Pub URN 06/1972 Guide to the installation of PV systems 2nd Edition). Made of high quality, durable polyethylene and inks, with an acrylic adhesive to ensure good performance for both internal and external use, each label measures 92mm x 30mm.
Customers either buy these labels on rolls or sheets. There are ten label types on a roll and there are 100 labels on a roll. Buying the labels in sheets means being provided with eight labels per sheet and ten sheets per pack.
Nico Frame, Silver Fox’s Marketing Manager, commented: “What sets Silver Fox apart from other companies is the commitment of its team to give exceptional service and support. Our whole philosophy is that we’re there to help. And, as a UK manufacturer, the delivery we offer is extremely prompt. Even for very large project orders, we work with our customers to schedule deliveries to best suit them.
“And if there are questions or issues, as a matter of routine we follow up with our customers to ensure they’re satisfied and we’ve addressed all their questions. We don’t just assume that their silence is sufficient.”
“Silver Fox has been at the forefront of the development of innovative durable and time-saving labelling solutions for over 30 years – so it was a natural move for us to develop solar power labels,” explained Nick Michaelson, Silver Fox’s CEO. “Our solutions rank up against some of the largest companies in our business and still we’re relentlessly evolving and improving our solutions.
“The impetus for this comes both from our own product development team and, most importantly, from user feedback. This feedback from our customers across the world is particularly helpful. We know engineers are very sensible people and their common sense approach matches exactly our own approach to labelling. That’s perhaps part of what brings the smiles to their faces when they see our solutions.
“What they want are solutions that are easy to set up and easy to use; powerful enough to address their real world needs; simple and fast to run,” he said. “They want labels from a dependable source and the final products that are reliable and durable. We totally agree!
“Of course, in the current economic climate, our customers are increasingly cost-conscious and, in a very important way, using our labels can save them significant amounts of time,” Nick continued. “Our goals are to make labelling simple, fast and effective while offering exceptional levels of customer service and continue to offer industry leading innovation – or, put simply, working to turn Time into Profit.”

The Very Best of Current Design Trends for Commercial Interiors
You may not realise quite how challenging designing interiors for commercial properties can be. It is a tricky old job – the design that is submitted has to be efficient as well as cost effective, even though the space in question must have the perfect balance of engagement and fun, all while making sure it is unique and not derivative.
To make things even more complicated, the majority of companies will want your design to incorporate some part of their own branding, whether that be a particular colour scheme or a motif consisting of their logo. It’s a balancing act, that’s for sure!
Some of the most popular current trends in the world of commercial interior design are adaptable and able to suit the shifting tastes of the consumer. Here are some of the very best.
Get Quirky with Your Combos!
One thing you can expect to see a lot more of this year, and in the next few years, is a great variety of combination styles. Think quirky, think unorthodox, think unusual! Look forward to special, unique touches that help a space in really standing out from the herd (read: competition).
Surely it can only be a good thing, providing a breath of fresh air away from the more formulaic options that you often see. Although it sounds odd on paper, one of our personal favourites involves using mismatching tiles – it needs to be done with care, but when pulled off correctly expect a dramatic finish.
Super-Size Your Geometrics
Don’t go in to 2014 expecting to see small scale designs – their time has been and gone, and next year will be the year of the super-scale! Sure, you’ll still see the occasional small geometric pattern skulking around hospitals, but the bold, striking personalities of super-scale are here to stay.
Such large geometric patterns are bound to leaving a lasting impression on any visitor, so companies are sure to take advantage of this in the coming months, in order to make a strong statement.
Form Trumps Function
Think of any office in the history of ever – function has always, always triumphed over form. There are simple reasons for this: if you’re sitting at the computer all day long, do you want a chair that looks stylish or one which comfortably supports you? The answer is obvious.
However, nowadays we are in the privileged position where we can afford to have products that tick off the boxes for both form and function. Take a look at the Innova Design website for some inspiration. Ensuring that you’re comfortable whilst working is essential for any working office, school or workplace, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to compromise your design.
Ergonomic furniture is where’s it’s at in the here and now. Not only does it tend to look pretty fab, but these pieces are built to give you comfort and support. Adjustable arm rests, monitor arms, standing desks, lumbar support… Anything you could ask for, it is available alongside stunning good looks.

Firefox 25 adds Web Audio API support
Mozilla has released Firefox 25th with new encouragement in web audio and with more enhanced for JavaScript support. The list of the new features of Firefox 25 is comparatively short. But in addition to the support of web audio for processing audio data in Mozilla calls a change in the behavior of the search field. Each tab now has its own search box; so that its contents change when tab changes.
Firefox will not revise it for several months, the browser asks the future whether to apply settings and of course any other browser. Firefox can be reset but it no longer deletes the surf session. Support for HTML5 and CSS3 is particularly improved. Control scrolling background with "background- attachment: local" will include more developers, as well as the implementation of new JavaScript functions.
For the rest, Mozilla announced the autonomous operation of the search of a tab to another, better support iframe, some bug fixes and the ability to recover the session, even after a reset Firefox. Now also support the CSS3 property background-attachment, affecting the scrolling behavior of the background. The developer claims to have integrated many new features from ECMAScript 6 (ES6).
Content of iframes in Firefox 25 can also be specified inline, so that no second call must be made to fill an iFrame. In terms of innovations, Firefox 25 presents thin. Although missed the Mozilla browser in some places a meaningful fine-tuning, but the surf does not enrich the everyday. New in Firefox 25 is the way to start a separate search query in each tab. Until now there was only a single search for all tabs.
If you have not used Firefox for months and instead tried a different browser then in such a case, Firefox will ask you from now on, if you want to import the data as incurred history and settings from another browser into Firefox. Finally, note that contrary to what was announced as a first step, the arrival of the new user interface has indeed been postponed again.
It will be deployed as from version 28 of Firefox that should land around March. Called Australis, the new interface has been postponed from version to version since 24. As for Firefox 25 for Android version, it was also published in the day. Separate release notes are available on the Mozilla website.
One of the great innovations is the arrival of a navigation mode "Guest" to afford to let a third party use its browser without access to passwords or open sessions. As usual, it is available for download directly from the publisher's website or through an up-to- date from an earlier version.

The SSDs Are More Cheap And Economical
SSDs make traditional hard drives increasingly competitive. They work quickly and quietly - and need not be expensive. For less than 110 Euros you already get good models. Solid State Drives (SSDs) save files like USB sticks in flash memory. You are therefore completely without moving parts and are much faster than traditional hard disk drives (HDDs).
They work almost completely silent. Especially for the installation of the operating system and programs using SSDs are ideal. The computer starts up will be faster, applications can be launch faster. In short, the daily work with the computer feels superfluous. Files such as music, videos, office documents and photos, you can still place it on a HDD - which affects the speed of the PC barely.

A guide to Blu-Ray duplication
Blu-Ray players are becoming more affordable, and many consoles and computers now offer playback of the format as standard. Many production companies are taking advantage of its high-definition capabilities and opting to release their projects on Blu-Ray, either alongside or opposed to the previous mainstay of DVD.
For all intents and purposes, Blu-Ray discs look much the same as standard CDs and DVDs – the difference of course being that Blu-Ray discs can hold up to 50GB of data, allowing for huge improvements in audio and video quality.
Data is stored in much larger ‘pits’ on Blu-Ray discs than DVDs – the larger the number of pits, the higher the volume of information that can be stored. The name of the format derives from the blue laser beam used to ‘read’ the data from the disc. Blu-Rays are not typically compatible with standard DVD players.
Until recently, Blu ray duplication was generally more expensive when compared to the costs of duplicating a run of DVDs. Despite this, Blu-Ray is currently considered the best format for movie quality and demand for Blu-Ray discs has grown exponentially in recent years, which is why more and more production companies are opting to release their titles on the format.
A greater demand for Blu-Ray duplication and replication has meant that more and more companies are now offering competitive deals when it comes to creating copies of movies, games and software. The next generation of consoles are likely to exclusively use Blu-Ray discs, on account of the sheer amount of data involved in modern computer gaming.
Blu-Ray discs are typically copied using duplication towers capable of producing a variety of formats, such as dual layer, BD-R and BD-RE. Most towers have the ability to automatically recognise, reproduce and edit based on the source format of a disc. Such towers also make use of a much more dynamic partitioning system, as well as offering password protection and dual levels of security.
As one might expect, turnaround times on Blu-ray duplication can vary, largely based on the amount of-data of a particular project and the number of units required. Whilst Blu-ray replication is also an option (and turnaround times are notably quicker), there are a number of advantages to choosing duplication, most notably with regard to cost.
As a video format, Blu-Ray is associated with a number of licensing fees which are required in order to legally use the technology. Advanced Access Content System (AACS) licensing alone can cost independent producers in excess of £2,000 per project, before taking into account further fees and royalties. Replicated discs will include such a levy, although duplication is free of such costs, making it a less expensive means of producing a run of discs.
It’s fair to say that production companies have an incentive to offer releases on Blu-Ray. Although manufacturing and distributing on DVD may cost slightly less, it’s worth mentioning that the same was also said about VHS – a format now consigned to the history books. With increasing numbers of people making Blu-Ray their format of choice, it’s arguably worth paying a little more to deliver high-definition content at the cutting edge of technology.

How to maximize battery life of your laptop?
Follow these simple 6 steps to extend the life of your laptop battery.
1. Know the ropes
Batteries life depends upon the work of processors. Number of tasks performed by the processor reduces the battery life. Current generation processors such as i3, i5, i7 might have the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously but the life of batteries becomes halved.
In case of windows customized power options are available in your Control panel. Choose the best plan that suits to extend the battery life. If you’ve Mac OS laptops then go to “System Preferences-> Hardware Tab” which has the power options. Change the option of sleep to energy saver mode.
2. Clean your battery
Remove the battery and then clean the metal contacts using alcohol and allow it to dry it for 5 to 10 minutes for better performance of the battery. But make sure the batter is thoroughly dry before you place it.
3. Temperature kills life
When any task is running the processor gets heat up. When temperature raises ability of the processor decreases. So a cool place to work with your laptop is preferred. Usage of cooler pads might also do the trick.
Additionally usage of softwares such as Speccy helps you to know about the power consumption of each components of your laptop. Other preferred freeware utilities are SparkleXP.
4. Remove all the accessories
Remove all the unnecessary accessories that consume the power of your lap it might be USB, pen-drive or CD’s etc. Turn off the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings and turn them on when needed. Try to avoid using the laptop while charging. This method drains most of the charges from your battery and reduces the lifetime of your battery.
5. Hard drive De-fragmentation
When you delete some data gaps are created in the hard drive. Sometimes new data stored doesn’t fill these gaps. Fragmenting the hard disk slows down the processor speed and manages the space needed. Fragment your hard disk once in 3 to 4 months.
6. What kind of applications can be run to save the life of your battery?
Handle laptops with care. Don’t impose heavy applications on your processors. When you need to type any basic information choosing a basic text editor is preferable than the Microsoft word. Playing games, watching movies are the faster way to drain the life of a battery. Mute your lap. Turn them on only when necessary. Last but not least Shutting of your laptops are preferable rather than putting it to sleep. It continues to drain the power of your RAM.

But the real strength of Microsoft lies in the amplitude and the functionality of the online ecosystem where individuals and businesses can access with their Microsoft account like Skydrive, Azure or Office 365. This online platform is the rear base for the expansion of "digital self" that create online users, "says the analyst. “The real question is whether the range area, including the Surface 2 based on ARM chip (unlike the Surface Pro 2 and Intel Core i5 chip), Microsoft will offer a place in the landscape of mobility.

Top 5 Social Media Security Blunders
Security has become so advanced these days, there are thousands of different options when it comes to keeping safe and secure. However, even after going to all the trouble to make our property as secure as possible we still manage to put ourselves at risk via social media. Burglars and criminals can use social media as a way of identifying targets, and people are quite happy to openly advertise their homes. If you use social media regularly then there are a few simple rules you need to follow. Here are our top 5 social media security blunders.
1. Going On Holiday
If you are planning on going on holiday any time soon it’s important that you don’t boast about it online. Telling all your friends you are going skiing next week or off to an all-inclusive resort for two weeks might seem like a good idea at the time, but it could attract some unwanted attention. You are telling the world exactly when your house will be empty and burglars could be round your house as soon as you set foot on the plane.
2. Home Alone
Some celebrities have had bad experiences using social media and telling people they are at home alone. Helen Flanagan tweeted on the popular social media site Twitter that she was home alone when her boyfriend at the time Scott Sinclair was away. Shortly after this tweet her house was burgled. If you are going to be at home alone don’t post about it on social media. Consider making your profiles private if you are concerned about this.
3. Planning A Party
There have been countless reports in the papers about people advertising house parties on Facebook and other social media sites. Refrain from creating a Facebook event about a house party as this information could get into the wrong hands, even if you make a private event people still talk. House parties arranged via social media have resulted in hundreds of people swarming to the house party location and trashing the place. This is especially true amongst teenagers and young adults.
4. Disclosing Your Location
Do not under any circumstances post anything about your location online. This doesn’t just mean your address and information about where you live. Don’t post things about where you plan to go and what you will be doing at specific times. Otherwise people will know exactly where you are and it’s not safe. Consider removing locating targeting from your social media profiles as these can be used to track your whereabouts.
5. Talking About Valuables
Just got a brand new HD TV? Try and resist posting updates about it on social media. Don’t advertise your most expensive possessions to criminals. Then they will know what prize possessions you have and may decide your house is worth targeting. This is especially true around the holiday seasons.
Whilst we agree social media is a great of connecting people it has unfortunately also meant an increase in cybercrime.
