Hidden Android Settings

In recent times, Android Smartphones are available in different shapes and sizes. All of these Android phones run the normal operating system also. But there are some hidden Android Settings about which you need to know.

How to Find Hidden Android Settings?

Make sure that the phone you are using is running Android Marshmallow or a newer upgraded version. Devices released after 2015 will work well. If you are willing to open System UI Tuner, you should scroll the notification tab from the top part of the display. After that, you can see a small settings gear available on the top-right corner. Next, you are required to tap the little icon and hold it for about 5 seconds. Now, you can see the System UI Tuner appearing. When you release the gear icon, a notification comes saying that the hidden feature is now available in the settings.

Move to the full settings thereafter. To do this, you should tap on the gear icon once or you can do this also by navigating to the Settings in your app drawer. When you enter into the settings, you should first scroll the page and move to the bottom. Then, you can get the System UI Tuner available on the setting, “About phone.”

7 Important Hidden Android Settings:

We have given here some hidden Android settings about which you need to gather knowledge.

1. Increase Font Size:

Want to change the font size? Navigate to the Settings and open it then. After that, you should select Display, Advanced, Font size, respectively. Take the pointer and drag it along the slider for making changes. Then, you should see the last result on the preview window. As soon as you adjust the font size, all apps apply the size.

2. Default Tracking System:

Ensure that you have activated the built-in tracking system of your android device. It will increase the probability of recovering any device.

Hence, head towards the Settings and then open it thereafter. Move to the Security option and hit the option Find My Device. Now, change the mobile and go to the page of whatever browser you are using. Then, you need to sign in to the Google account. When you sign in to your account on Chrome browser, you should type “Where’s my phone” on the search bar. After doing this, you can see the live location of your device on a map.

3. Preventing Apps to Make Shortcuts:

If you install an app, it automatically comes to the home page by default. In this case, a new app is launched quickly, but it may clutter up the interface.

If you're willing to turn off the default, tap on a space on the home screen for a long time. As soon as a menu appears, you have to select the Home Settings option. Then, you should disable the Add icon to Home screen option.

4. Reduce Data Usage:

In the android phone, there is a default system where you can limit the data usage of apps running in the background. For instance, when you use a browser, you can't see images properly till you don't click on them. If you want to turn on the feature, you should first open the Settings. Then, your task is to select the option Network & internet. Now, power on the toggle switch that is available beside the Data Saver.

5. Change App Permissions:

If you want to see the permissions of an app, then head towards the Settings. Then, you are required to click on the Apps & notifications and choose an app. In this case, you need to hit the option See all apps to see the entire list. Click on the Permissions for editing the access of the app. For instance, you can allow an app for accessing the contacts, but don't access the location.

6. Rotate The Home Page:

The home page can be rotated from portrait to landscape mode or vice versa. However, the display does not have the feature in built-in mode. Users need to turn the feature on. Hence, you are unable to access this option when the mobile's orientation is locked. If you're willing to unlock the display, you should tap on the Settings first and open it then. After that, you need to head towards the Display, Advanced, and change the Auto-rotate screen option respectively.

7. Control Battery Use:

Android devices are capable of optimizing apps so that they couldn't drain the battery. For instance, the email app may still run in the background even now, but it does this less frequently. However, if you're willing, allow running a few apps continuously. To do this, you should open the Settings section and then hit the Battery option. After that, you have to hit the Menu button that is available as three dots on the top right corner. Now, tap on the Battery Usage.

You can see here the battery usage of each app. In this case, click on any app you prefer and then you should hit the Battery Optimization. Now, tap on the not optimized link, and click the All apps option. At last, your job is to choose an application and thereafter select the “Don’t Optimize” option.
