5 Chrome Address Bar Updates To Speed Up Your Search

The most used web browser — Google Chrome, is getting a few important updates, which focus on the address bar. Google has announced five address bar updates that let you efficiently use the address bar of the browser.

If you look for any site, this browser lets you find it even when you make typos. Besides, Chrome helps you find the website you want though you forget the URL or you require suggestions.

The address bar of Chrome is getting upgraded with several new updates like "smarter" autocomplete, typo correction, bookmark search, etc. These new changes might help to reshape the way people discover websites as well as land on them. Fortunately, with the help of these five latest improvements, you can browse faster.

5 Chrome Address Bar Updates To Speed Up Your Search

5 Chrome Address Bar Updates To Speed Up Your Search:

Let's have a look at these new address bar updates:

  1. Smarter Autocompletion:

Previously, when you typed the starting of any site correctly, the browser would autocomplete the links in the address bar. For instance, therefore, you should know one thing: the Google Flights site begins with google.com. Starting in Chrome on your desktop, users can now see the address bar auto-completing the URLs, depending on any word used earlier by the user to search a site. Suppose you type “flights,” and then you can see that Chrome will autocomplete to “https://www.google.com/travel/flights.”

  1. Automatic Typo Corrections:

Have you misspelt a URL name in the address bar while typing? Now Chrome can identify those typos. In addition, it is capable of showing you suggestions, relying on the websites you visited earlier. People using Chrome now can use the new feature on desktop, Android & iOS.

  1. Searches Within Bookmark Folders:

As a Chrome user, you are capable of searching within bookmark folders from the address bar on desktop and mobile. You only need to add the name of the folder in your search. Then, you can see the available suggestions from the collection.

This update will be a game changer for those who depend on bookmarks for tracking their favorite web pages. Now, Chrome will permit you to search within your bookmark folders, and you are able to find those tucked-away pages easily. If you have an extensive collection of bookmarks or wish to access any particular page, you should use the feature to stay organized. Thus, you can find what you need easily. You should keep in mind that adding a bookmark folder name is essential in order to search bookmarks via the address bar.

  1. Suggestions For Popular Sites:

Suppose, your friend has recommended a website to you, but you can't remember its name. Now, when you use this browser on your desktop and mobile, it will suggest popular websites despite the fact that you have not visited the website or you have mistyped the URL.

Suppose one of your friends has told you to check out Google Earth to scout how hard the hiking trail is. If you are going to type “Google Earth” for the first time in this browser's address bar, you will see Chrome is suggesting the Google Earth website in the drop-down.

  1. Simpler-to-read Results:

It is possible to read the Chrome desktop address bar easily, and all credits go to an improved visual layout. As this one is very responsive, you will get faster outcomes once you start typing.

While typo correction, autocomplete, & folder search features are available, a few features are yet to roll out, including popular site suggestions and visual updates. According to Google, these latest changes would save time for those who are using Chrome, and also help to reduce frustration when they navigate the web.

The Bottom Line:

As per Statcounter, Chrome has 63.45% of the global browser market share. Overall, Chrome is the most popular browser. After seeing the new updates to the browser, you can easily understand why Safari & Edge have got the 2nd & 3rd position, respectively.

Sparkplug— JavaScript Compiler Makes Chrome Faster

Sparkplug— JavaScript Compiler Makes Chrome Faster

Recently Google has launched Chrome 91, the latest version of its browser, and modified with advanced features and additions. The new version is accompanied by the ability to freeze Tab Groups and possess PWAs on startup. Moreover, Chrome 91 is 23% faster because of a pair of JavaScript compiler additions. By employing a new compiler called Sparkplug and short builtins calls, it’s saved over 17 years of users’ CPU time each day.

The new Compiler Provides Stability

The new compilation system is an excellent supplement to the JavaScript pipeline, as it serves as an intermediary between the current Ignition and Turbofan. Ignition interprets the bytecode, and Turbofan optimizes the high-performance machine code. Both do a solid job. However, it takes time to prepare and optimize all the code.

It combines a different compiler and strikes stability between the two in that it generates native machine code but doesn’t depend on information learned while executing the JS code. It bridges the gap between starting to implement code quickly and optimizing it for maximum execution.

The brand-new compilation system stabilizes the engine’s two-tier method. It produces machine code without relying on the data accumulated during the accomplishment of JS code. This enables Google Chrome to “generate relatively fast code and start running quickly,” Google states.

Whereas, Short builtins calls, on the other hand, optimize the space Google places. Code produced to withdraw indirect jumps when “calling a function.” In addition, Google Chrome’s V8 engine is supplement by various compilers that make several trade-offs at distinct levels of administering JavaScript.

Sparkplug is Speedy

The new compilation system is designed to compile fast. It is so speedy that we can pretty much collect whenever we want, allowing us to tier up to Sparkplug code much more aggressively than we can to TurboFan code.

There are a couple of tricks that make the compilation fast. First of all, it cheats; the functions that it compiles have already been collected to bytecode. The bytecode has already done most of the hard work like variable resolution, figuring out if parentheses are arrow functions, desugaring destructuring statements, and so on. It compiles from bytecode rather than JavaScript source, and so doesn’t have to worry about any of that.

The second method doesn’t produce any intermediate representation (IR) like many compilation systems perform. Instead, it compiles straight to machine code in a single linear pass over the bytecode, emitting code that meets the performance of that bytecode.

Differ to Builtins

Sparkplug hardly produces its codes. JS semantics are intricate and extract several codes to function for even minute operations. However, propelling it to reproduce this code inline on each compilation would be bad for varied reasons. Firstly, It would improve compiling from the absolute amount of code required to produce.

Secondly, It would enhance the memory consumption of compilation code. Lastly, it has to Re-implement the code-gen for a group of JavaScript functionality for it, which means more bugs and a more prominent security surface.

Therefore, instead of all this, many compilation codes call into “builtins,” small snippets of machine code installed in the binary to do the actual messy task. These builtins are either the identical ones that the interpreter practices or distributes most of their code with the interpreter’s bytecode handlers.

Consequently, V8 has an advanced super-fast non-optimizing compilation system, which enhances and boosts the performance of the V8.

Android Version of Chrome could be leaking your information

Android Version of Chrome could be leaking your information
Android is the most used software system around the world with over 2 billion users worldwide. The immensely popular, Android comes with a number of pre downloaded apps that users can get their hands on after switching on their phones. But now as news of a flaw in the software causes many users to start losing faith in Android, here’s all we know of the problem so far….

The problem has to do with the Android version of Chrome which is the most used browser on Android. Security experts associated with the problem have said that they have found a shock issue relating to the Android version of Chrome.

More on the issue associated with the Android Version of Chrome:

Experts up at the Nightwatch cybersecurity have said that there is a shock issue with the Android version of Chrome. This issue could potentially lead to the popular browser leaking a phone’s information. Information such as the firmware model of the phone, security patch level and hardware model are all susceptible to the leak.

The Android version Chrome is not the only Google app that comes with such problems. Security experts have also commented on WebView and other Chrome Tabs on Android that too discloses the phones private information.

Any other Android apps running on Chrome to render web content will also be susceptible to the flaw.

What this Flaw on the Android Version of Chrome means for you?

With the Android version of Chrome be susceptible to leaks, it means that no Android device is really safe. But what all this translates for you is that the information so obtained through the flaw can be used to track users and also fingerprint devices.

Besides this users phones vulnerabilities can also be determined and then used to get further information form the phone. This is not even the main part of the issue here. Experts say that the flaw pertaining to the Android version of Chrome was discovered back in 2015.

What Google did About it?

As experts submitted the initial report pertaining to the bug back in 2015, Google gave a partial fix only in October 2018 for version 70. The fix is supposed to hide the firmware information and retain the hardware model identifier.

All versions of the app seem to be affected and users are encouraged to update to the latest version.
As for WebView users, this fix is not applicable and app developers should manually override the user agent configuration in their respective apps.

Fake apps on the Google Play Store:

Recently fake apps were discovered on the Google Play Store. These apps have reportedly been downloaded tens and thousands of times. These apps were found on the Google Play Store and hid themselves as PDF readers, scanners and converters.

The apps themselves seem to be genuine but don’t offer the functionality that they were intended for. These apps are meant to increase the download count for other related apps and also to improve their ratings.

Shape Detection now with Google Chrome 70 Beta

Shape Detection

So Chrome has just turned a decade old and Google celebrated by making some major updates like an almost full change of the user interface and like with all major updates- a performance improvement as well. But that’s not all that was in store for Chrome. Google also added shape detection and other features to boost security as well, like using biometrics in web based applications. But the tinkering is not over just as yet. Google recently released its beta for Chrome 70 that includes the shape detection, web authentication and some other updates as well.

Shape Detection in Chrome:

Google uses this shape detection API to bring a device’s feature of detecting faces, barcodes and text to web pages.

Shape detection constitutes three APIs in one bundle. You have the face detection software, barcode detection API in shape detection and of course text detection API also in the shape detection API. Basically the shape detection API pretty much does as the name describes but for further information Google has given its own description of what you can expect from its shape detection API.

For face detection in the shape detection API- given the image bitmap or face or blob even, the face detection API gives you the location of that face and the eyes, nose and mouth in that face.

To gain more control over the process you can always prioritize speed over performance when it comes to search results for faces. You could even limit the number of faces given as results, using this method in shape detection.

The barcode detection API in shape detection API decodes the bar codes or QR codes for you into strings with values ranging from single sets of digits to multi line texts.

The text detection API in shape detection API is meant to read Latin- 1 text used in images.

The use of shape detection in Chrome could open up a host of useful opportunities for developers. Adding facial recognition in shape detection API could mean better security like Apple’s FaceID. Text detection too has a lot of opportunities where it can be used in.

QR or barcode reading while it will be more useful in other places, it is less useful in places like the US where QR codes or barcodes are not used much.

Web authentication on Chrome:

To add more security Google has added Web authentication update with support for a PublicKeyCredential type. This allows web based applications to use and create strong cryptographically attested credentials for their users.

This feature was present in Chrome 67 for desktop by default and now has been activated for Chrome Android as well.

Another feature added by web authentication on Chrome is the use of finger print or biometrics. This uses the feature present on phones or the mac to give users extra security when using web based applications. That means on various websites, web operators can ask for your finger print using the scanners on your phone or mac to verify your identity.

Chrome 66 Beta Delivers On Async Clipboard API, Web Locks API

Google on Windows and Android has released the latest Chrome 66 Beta version.
The Chrome 66 Beta version is available for download in the beta channel and it will restrict media auto playback and reduce browser crashes on Windows. There will be additional features like Chrome Home Duplex and a new Design tab on the Android app.

The Chrome 66 Beta version, which is in the beta phase, promises to block autoplaying videos with sound. Google was supposed to do it in Chrome 64 in the month of January, but the block on autoplay video will come along with the Chrome 66.

The Chrome 66 beta is expected for release in mid-April.

According to Google, the Chrome 66 beta will allow autoplay only when the video is muted or when the media does not play sound or if the user is interacting with the media on the site or has frequently accessed media on the same site. This ensures that there will be no unexpected video playbacks with sound as soon as the web page is opened.

The Chrome 66 beta will reduce the number of browser crashes caused due to third party software on Windows. It will display warnings in case a crash occurs.

As regards the Chrome 66 for Android, the Chrome Home Duplex replaces the Chrome Home bottom bar. There will also be a new sliding bottom toolbar to redirect to the New Tab page. It will be a quick way to launch bookmarks, but it is still in the development stage. It also includes a new Modern Design flag which has a rounded bar for URLs and icons. There will be a white background on the tab switcher and New Tab page.

Features of Chrome 66 Beta:

AudioWorklet API

Earlier, the Script Processor Node was asynchronous and required thread hops, producing unstable audio output. For developers, the Chrome 66 has the new AudioWorklet API for enhancing audio performance. The AudioWorklet provides a synchronous JavaScript execution. With the help of a program, the developers will be able to control audio without any additional latency and provide higher stability in the output audio. Media streaming resolution will be better on websites with the new decoding Info API which determines the decoding capabilities of devices.

Asynchronous Clipboard API

A new Asynchronous Clipboard API will improve the read and write functions on the clipboard and the later Chrome versions will provide additional support for copy and paste functions of images and other data.

CSS Typed Object Model

Earlier when the developers wanted to manipulate CSS properties, they had to do so by manipulating the strings for the browser and then convert it back to a typed form. The drawback was that when the value of the CSS property had to be read in Java, the typed value was converted back to a string.
With the Chrome 66, the CSS Typed Object Model (OM) Level 1 shows the CSS values as typed JavaScript objects instead of strings. The developers are able to write codes that can be maintained and easier to understand.

ImageBitmap Rendering Context

Previously, in order to render an image on to a canvas, the first thing was to create an image tag and then the contents were rendered onto the canvas. In the process there were many copies of the image which were created and they had to be stored in memory. With the new ImageBitmap rendering context, there is no memory duplication and the ImageBitmap objects were rendered more efficiently.

Google Chrome will Start Blocking Flash by Default

Flash

Google Chrome Stop Support to Adobe Flash Player

Chrome browser of Google will stop its support to Adobe’s Flash Player on almost all websites by the end of this year. Staff member, Anthony LaForge while posting to Google groups, had defined the plan of the company to stop automatically permitting Flash to run on websites. The plan intended to be implemented by the fourth quarter of 2016 would be seeing HTML5 replacing Flash as a much integrated media experience with quicker load times and less power consumption.

LaForge had mentioned that `if a site offers an HTML5 experience, this change would make that the main experience’. They will continue to ship Flash Player with Chrome and if a site really needs Flash, a prompt would be appearing at the top of the page when the user first tends to visit that site, providing the options of allowing it to run for that site. But the top ten website utilizing Flash would not have it disabled, according to Google. Presently the ten biggest website as per Google are Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, V.K.com, Yahoo, Live.com, Yandex.rv, OK.ru, Twitch.tv and Mail.ru, though these may be changing towards the end of the year.

Proposal Document Outlining Change

Whitelisted websites would be having their Flash use secured for a year though it will also be reviewed during a period of 12 months. Proposal document outlining how the change would take place had been online by LaForge:

  • Flash would still be bundled with Chrome though would not be advertised by default
  • If HTML5 is provided by a website, Chrome would automatically default to it
  • If Flash Player is essential, a user would be prompted
  • When a user accepts the page will get refreshed and Flash will appear on any following visits to the domain

Latest Backlash against Adobe Flash

The move is said to be the latest in on-going backlash against Adobe Flash and the platform was used to create animations, web pages as well as games from the early 2000s. However, it has been slowly replaced with more open web standards. Adobe had said, in November, that it was time for developers to move away from using Flash. The company had mentioned in a blog post that they encourage content creators to build with new web standards and would continue to focus on offering the best tools and services for designers as well as developers in creating amazing content for the web.

In July 2015, Mozilla had blocked all the versions of Flash in its Firefox browser. During the time Mozilla had said that Flash would stay blocked till Adobe releases a version which was not being actively exploited by publicly known susceptibilities and the block had been lifted few days thereafter. The death of Flash had been slow and painful with Google now planning to deal with another blow.

Google has plans to begin blocking most of Flash content with Chrome and the changeover is targeted to the end of the year. Under its existing vision, almost every website would be having Flash content blocked by default and visitors will still be capable of enabling Flash content on a site-by-site basis though would have to specially opt to do so. Flash has been a threat on battery life and is constantly found to have severe security errors and hence its ultimate disappearance would be accepted.

Chrome for Android vulnerability Discovered by Researcher

Chrome

Chinese Researcher Discovered Susceptibilities in Android Operating System

Google, over the past few months had been busy crushing security susceptibilities in its prevalent Android mobile operating system, though several tends to remain undiscovered and some could be easily misused. Guang Gong, a Chinese researcher from Qihoo 360, demonstrated at MobilPwn2Own at the PacSec conference in Tokyo on how an Android device running the latest version of the operating system could be hijacked by exploiting JavaScript v8 vulnerability through Chrome browser.

Gong observed JavaScript v8 susceptibility in Chrome for Android enabled him to install a random application on the affected device, a BMX Bike game in this case, without the need of user interaction. Dragos Ruiu, PacSec organizer had explained in a Google+ post. V8 is Google’s open source JavaScript engine and V8 is written in C++, used in Google Chrome which is the open source browser from Google.

Google security engineer on site had received the bug. Spotpedia had informed that `a Google engineer instantly got in touch with Gong after his presentation and rumours were on that the Chrome team had already got it fixed. Gong had commented on 9to5Google that the exploit was created by someone whose job was to find vulnerabilities and not a hacker with malicious intentions.

Vulnerability in JavaScript Engine in Chrome

As long as Chrome is utilised in navigating to a malicious site an attacker has set up, the device could be infected. This was demonstrated on a Google Project Fi Nexus 6 operating the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow build with all applications updated. The vulnerability was also demonstrated by the researcher which could provide an attacker with total control of the device and success of the exploitation does not need chaining in multiple susceptibilities.

Ruiu informs that this particular shot exploit had been exposed after three months of work, though the exact details on the security flaw had not been publicly known. The exploit had been tested on other devices too and worked on all of them, according to Ruiu.Considering that the vulnerability is in the JavaScript engine in Chrome, it is said to affect the entire Android version with the new version of the browser which is installed. Ruiu had announced through Twitter that the details on the vulnerability had been handed over to Chrome engineer at the conference.

Series of Critical Android Vulnerabilities Observed

However, unfortunately for Gong, his presentation at the conference did not gain him an immediate reward for his efforts though probably Google would reward him for the discovery of the vulnerability, since the company has a bug bounty program set up for Chrome and Chrome OS. According to The Register, Ruiu would fly Gong to the CanSecWest security conference next year.

Google would most probably handle this vulnerability soon, even though the details on the exploit have not been made public so far. A series of critical Android vulnerabilities have been discovered by security researchers this year comprising of the Stagefright flaw which has affected almost a billion devices and a Stagefright2issue alleged to have affected devices running all Android version, began with the initial release.

Google to Offer Mac-Friendly Version of Chrome

Chrome
Much after people reduced the use of old-school Microsoft Internet Explorer and chose the most beloved browser Google Chrome, Google finally announced Mac friendly version of the web browser, which will consume less battery and will offer better performance. It was high time for US tech giant Google to spread their wing into iMacs and Mac OS, as the company now expects the Chrome to work with its full potential in Mac computers. According to tech pundits, Google have placed a well-planned and firm bet by releasing Mac-friendly Chrome, only to triumph Apple’s own web browser, Safari. Though Safari works just perfectly as a web browser on Apple systems and offers lot additives, Google officials and developers are confident enough to beat the likes of Safari and to claim the favourite spot for Mac-freaks.

The news got proper shape when Senior chrome engineer Peter Kasting recently announced an update to Google chrome with some intelligent tweaks are coming very soon. Though Google have not announced any launch date, but the update details are coming from trusted official sources. According to official sources, Google developers’ team is currently testing the latest tweaks, which are expected to reduce the load by chrome on the processor and also promises for longer battery life and enhanced performance.

What is coming with Mac-friendly Chrome!

Last week Casting posted on Google+ about the Chrome update for Mac users and stated that the new Chrome version will change how it processes the idle tabs, which are not in use at that point of time. In technical words, the new chrome will render the tabs differently and the unused tabs will be less prioritised further. The tests conducted have showed better browsing performance, better idle wake up time and also showed less battery consumption, which have been always a great concern on Mac systems. Google have also integrated some intelligent moves with new Chrome, like waking up from low-power mode to check necessary tasks and it will reduce idle wake time.

For Mac systems, some of the biggest problems reported for Chrome are huge battery consumption, high memory acquisition. Google tech team have been preparing Chrome for this launch for a long time now and stated that the team has been restless during this time as they could not allow their users are having issues with their product. Also the newer version of Chrome is coming with stable enabled flash service.

Vs Safari

According to the technology experts, Google Chrome is going for a direct assault with Safari by matching their performance graph on Mac systems. Certain quality check tests have been conducted and showed significant boost in performance level. For example, a test showed the consumption of processing power by new version of Chrome reduced to 0.1 percent from 0.3 percent.

According to the official source, Google will be releasing the new version of Chrome through its beta channel in a while and the final version will be launched in next month or so.

Chrome and Android Merger Coming Close To Reality

Chrome Android Merger
The talks regarding the merging of the Android and Chore Os into one single platform is nothing new and it has been expected for a long in industry.

The Tech enthusiasts and analysts were apprehensive of the merger from the very first day Google introduced its cloud-based operating system. The Google co-founder SergyBrinhas also admitted to their merger in a single platform as long back as 2009.

Only now the reports are filling with show with positivity towards much waited merger news. The Wall Street Journal has reported that such a merger is looking extremely likely due to the change in the management structure inside the software giant technology department.

The Change In The Google Management Structure

The Vice President of the Google’s Android Division named Hiroshi Lockheimer has been appointed to overlook the task of Chrome engineering team. Earlier this job was performed by Linus Upson.

How Tech Analysts View This Change

The Tech analysts are of view is that this move should be seen in isolation rather than it has meaning hidden behind him. They have finally begun to see some synergy between the two platforms. Last month Google has even brought the first batch of Android apps which could run effectively well on its clod Os i.e. Chromebook.

These Android apps are Duolingo, Evernote, Sight Words and Vine. These applications could easily run on the Chrome by using the App Runtime for Chrome (the beta version); this project was announced by Google in June this year.

A Secret Project Called ‘Hera’ Points Towards Imminent Merger

The rumours suggests that the search engine giant is running an ambitious project inside named ‘Hera’ which would represent a huge step forward in effectively integrating the Google’s popular mobile-based operating system ‘Android’ with its web based operating system ‘Chrome’ and it powerful search platform.

The Merger of the three distinctive services will give a new kind of advanced experience for the users. Google is expected to do this by using a special Chromium build which is meant to run on Android and execute tasks through the web both for the Google and third-part apps as well.

There are rumours that this merger would allow the users to call functions from third-party apps without having to open the app. It is touted to be a great feature for enterprise users juggling multiple tasks on a small mobile screen.

The Future Prospects of the Merger

As of now the search engine giant is working with a select group of Android developers for adding more of the popular app on the Chromebook. It is also working towards developing such apps which would work seamlessly on both the platforms and could provide a unique and beautiful experience to its users.

Some even suggests that this project looks more like an Androidfication of the Chrome than just a merger of two services. Google wishes to introduce us toward a world where Chrome is the computing platform of choice for users and it would be able to run across various operating systems and devices flawlessly.

Updated Version of Chrome and Skype Apps

Skype Apps
After Twitter as well as Instapaper, Microsoft has launched the updates of Skype while Google has also done the same in case of Chrome apps for the latest iOS 8 operating system. The apps now consist of a lot of interesting features.

Updated Google Chrome-

Many iPhone users and iPad customers are inclined to use Google Chrome for their internet browsing requirements prior to Apple's own ideal and striking Safari app. Chrome is not only fast, clean, and spontaneous, but also syncs flawlessly with the even more accepted desktop version.

With the launching of iOS-8 operating system, Apple's Safari achieved the ability of being competent to share links to the third party applications.

Google has put in the same facility to Chrome. Now, while a user goes into the Share feature in the major Chrome menu, he will be presented with the similar sharing alternatives as can be found in the system of iOS 8. In addition the default Message, email, and Facebook options, he can press the ‘more’ button and insert third party apps such as Facebook or Pinterest and many more.

As soon as it is activated, the user will be capable to send web stories directly to these well-suited apps for reading it or sharing it, or whatever the selected app does with these things.

It is not fairly the numerous and ultra-functional extensions available on the web version of the Chrome, and obviously the Android version of Google Chrome has presented such a characteristic now. Still, it is an admired offering given that now holds up third-party app extensions for posting as well as sharing content to some other websites.

For example, the iOS 8 users at present can send a website page in their read-later facility of Pocket through the Chrome browser, and are able to share these on LinkedIn. The latest edition of Google Chrome can be downloaded for free of cost from the iOS App Store.

Updated Skype App-

The Skype app has also been updated for iPhone or the iPod with support for the system of iOS 8. But, unfortunately, it does not take in the support in case of iPhone 6 as well as 6 Plus screen sizes. The recent version of Skype i.e. v5.5 also makes use of interactive notification method of iOS 8 and allows users to reply or decline voice or even video calls or get text conversations straight from the lock screen and notice centre.

There are also the options to reply in words for the missed calls. Users can use the stated options by swiping to the left side from the lock screen or the pull down notifications section.

Skype in case of iPhone makes wide-ranging utilization of iOS 8's latest interactive notifications, permitting customers to relate with the communications service at each turn. Banner notifications may be pulled down to react to multimedia calls as well as text messages.

Skype for the iPhone version 5.5 is obtainable now as a free of charge, 46.7-megabyte download from the Application Store.

Google Chrome 38 Browser and It’s Profile Management

Chrome 38
Google has released a new beta version of Chrome namely Chrome 38. Let us have a look and feel the changes in it and check whether it is up to the user satisfaction or else for beyond it. With new Chrome 38 Google has integrated a new menu for managing more profiles of different users. The developers are hardly trying to give a tough fight to the Mozilla in the integration of the first WebRTC service in Firefox 33, Google is working on Chrome 38 on a unified control for user profiles, enabled the new guest mode and promises else a lot of new stuff in every nook and edges as much as possible on their own style and way.

The most novel and striking feature of Chrome 38 is their user profile management system. In this new Chrome 38 the user can switch between different profiles very easily and swiftly. This integration is useful when multiple users share a single system. Even though handling of multiple profiles of the users is not new in Chrome and however it is inducted already but those functions and options were hidden in depths of the settings and most of the users hardly notice such options.

To create a new profile, you must call the settings dialog to do so. Besides the possibility to change the profile, the new menu also offers the option to switch to guest mode of the browser. Even though, this option is available since from the version 36 of the chrome, but it was not given much importance and hardly noticed.

But now the guests can use Chrome browser more effectively and on closing of the browser they won’t leave any traces of their foot print in the system. But unlike the incognito mode, a guest mode also serves to protect your privacy, as the guest also could not get your personal data’s like history book marks etc.

Even though it is limited this is possible because every user profile is password protected and also you have an option for switch to one profile from others. The guest user can open Chrome window in visitor mode by clicking in the bottom left of the Chrome. The Windows users of 64- bit version user can download the Chrome 38 or upgrade to Chrome 38 from Chrome 37 without any hindrance where as the users of the Apple's OS X operating system wait some more time for a 64-bit version.

For the Windows users, the browser will do the choice between a 32 and 64-bit version automatically. The latest Chrome 38 beta is flawless and the performance remains at the high level of its predecessor, its V8 benchmark gains more points when compared with its predecessor Chrome 37.

Most innovations deliver Chrome 38 under the hood. Images can be flexibly installed in responsive web pages, which is mainly when browsing with smart phones and tablets of advantage. Developers get for the same the right tools at hand to make it easier to build the WebPages. In addition, the Chrome developer made JavaScript support of your browser with the help of maps and sets as well as new mathematical functions on vigorously.

Interesting for the Android version of the browser is the introduction of the Screen Orientation API and the API NetInfo. Using the former recognize apps when the device orientation changes and prevent, if necessary, the automatic screen rotation. With the second interface asking Apps from the nature of the current network connection to the system and restart it to the strong Wi fi available, if the user is downloading large files then clear when Wi-Fi is available.

With Chrome 38 for Android Google fits the browser continues to material design, the new design language of future Android version. In addition, Chrome is now able to read out the charge state of the Smartphone and, where appropriate, adapt its behavior. Chrome 38 offers equipped with Android L on a Nexus device, have the option to integrate the individual tabs from Chrome in the App Overview of Android.

With Chrome 38 Google Product Care operates in the broadest sense. Even though the new version does have to offer some interesting new features, but the big highlights are still missing.

Thus, the Profile Management is the only special feature in the new design and the protection of the inn mode fall without a password protection from straightforward. Under the hood, though dormant, it primarily benefits the most web developers.

64-Bit Chrome For Windows In Beta Phase

64-Bit Chrome
After a short test phase, the 64-bit version of Chrome for Windows is now available in a beta. A fianl version will be released later this year. Even though the hardware and operating systems are fit for 64 bit, many software manufacturers do with the switch to the new architecture more difficult. In the browser world, only the Internet Explorer (since version 8) is available as a 64-bit version.

Now Google Chrome is following the suit and is releasing the 64-bit beta version of their fast browser in beta mode which is meant for the Windows users. A 64-bit version of the Chrome browser is available now to users of Windows 7 and 8 and is in beta development mode. This move shows that Google considers this version is stable enough for a wider public, which would most likely to appear as a final version with Chrome 37 in late August or even within six weeks.

What is surprising is that, as compared to Mozilla, very short test phase of the 64-bit version in the so-called Dev and Canary development branches, which had begun in June. For the Firefox; the developers are experimenting with a 64-bit version for Windows Years together, but they have never released a stable one. According to the internal testing the 64-bit version of Chrome, however, is now much more stable than the 32-bit version, which has been confirmed in the two-month test phase as well.

Above all, the crash rate of the rendering process had significantly reduced. Although the main advantage of 64-bit programs rarely comes (more than 3.2 gigabytes of addressable memory) for smaller programs such as browsers to support, but the development should be also applied here in the future. A real advantage is improving the security of Windows-8-users who do not currently have.

In Windows 8 Chrome can use with high entropy due to the 64-bit Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR), which also help to better fend off JIT-Spraying attack. In addition, existing defense mechanisms, such as the heap partitioning is more effective.

According to Google, the larger word width also allows "the use of processor and compiler optimizations, modern instruction sets and calling conventions, which allow more function parameters are quickly passed by the register."

This should be accelerated in particular with the presentation of graphics and multimedia content. Google tells that the average performance increased by 25 percent. In their first announcement of Google promised its users more speed, security and stability.

The 64-bit beta of Chrome 37 is available for Windows now for download and can be used as a complete replacement for the previously used 32-bit versions.

Google demotes Chrome Feature

Google Chrome
Original Chip Plan Now Hides full Addresses

Recently, Chrome team member, Peter Kasting has demoted one aspect of the address hiding feature to a third level priority from a top priority level and those wanting their browser showing websites’ full addresses, should be glad that Google has put in work on its former chip, on the back burner. Google has now taken a step back from its original chip plan which would now hide the full addresses that people visit with its Chrome browser. In his explanation on Google’s issue tracking site, Kasting states that `the origin chip work is back burned’.

To the left of Chrome’s address bar is the region of the origin chipwhich shows only the domain of a web addresses and instead of a full web address it now shows a shorter form of a web address where longer address could be more useful but it could also be more crowded with obscure coding. It is unknown why Google has done this but a lot of the origin chip work has already been done with some other aspects of the origin chip work remaining active in the Chrome issue tracker. No comments have been received from Google with regards to this issue.

Navigation to Web – Changed

Google had been conducting test on the feature of a fraction of Chrome beta user to get people’s response, some of which were negative since the full web address portrays useful information. Navigation to the web has now changed and full addresses are no longer essential as they were earlier.

To navigate to a particular site, the option of the search engine was used to get where one wanted to go and the share buttons in smartphone app can take the place of a copy and paste operation when one wants to tell a friend regarding a particular web site.

However it is hard to change user interfaces where millions of user have now become accustomed to it and Chrome’s growth on the usage of the net has made it harder for Google to introduce significant changes like the omnibox or the origin chip which merged the browser’s search box and the address boxes when Chrome had been debuted in 2008.

Minimalist Presentation – More Inviting to Search

Kasting has also shared some reasons why the origin chip would be a good idea in his earlier comments on Google+. According to him the minimalist presentation would be making it more inviting to search, and could make it easier to refine searches by adding or removing search terms and improve security by showing users what site they are really on and not just what a carefully crafted address would misleadingly suggest.

Web addresses also called URLs – uniform resource locators, are fundamental parts of the World Wide Web that Time Berners Lee had created around twenty five years ahead and the origin chip does not remove the full URL but is something that people are looking for. With the origin chip feature implemented, user could click on the chip and see or copy the full address. Beside this, the Ctrl/Cmd-L keyboard shortcut also shows – select the full address, as it shows today with the origin chip.

You can chat with your Google Chrome soon!!!

We cannot say that Google relies on its laurels for Google Chrome. While the Internet giant has recently taken the decision to separate heavy WebKit last month by announcing the launch of its own rendering engine, he unveiled a new how to use the browser on Mac and PC. Like the mobile versions, it will be possible to search by voice from his computer. Google wants to provide a non-interface approach. Suffice it to say "Ok Google" then the question and Chrome by exploiting the different services Google will try to answer your question. Just like Siri, the user can ask a question without having to adapt their language to the machine. We will instruct Chrome as "send an email to Florist" or "Show me my photos of Elixir of Knowledge taken last year." This system can help you of course for your local search (finding a restaurant, how to go to a certain place etc. On its system, Google makes no mystery. The more you give them any information about yourself and you can utilize more of their services, the more Google will be able to give you relevant results. Voice Search will be available in Google Chrome. This feature should allow Google to clearly differentiate its browser competition. The least we can say is that Chrome has the wind in its sails. In Europe and in France, he now closely heels Internet Explorer. Google Chrome now has over 750 million active users. Just last month, the web browser Internet giant has attracted more than 300 million new users. The head of Google, Sundar Pichai, did not give the distribution between users of the desktop version and that of the mobile version. However, he indicated that this segment was surging. Just like its big brother, Chrome Mobile for Android is constantly improving. The new version presented is 50% faster. On this occasion finally, Google has demonstrated Racer, a fairly simple game that has been played for Chrome Mobile (it works with the iOS version), but has the distinction of being multiplayer up to five users.

The Origin of Web Browsers!

Jeff Nelson is often considered the "inventor" of Chrome OS, but it is in fact the inventor of Google OS: it began to develop its system several months before the start of work on Chrome. His idea was to develop a system that rotates and Web Apps that would be kind of a big browser on top of a Linux kernel has chosen to Firefox. Ironically, Firefox OS today is not very different from that principle. In 2006, Nelson was developing Web Apps for Google and was particularly frustrated by existing browsers, including their slow start.

While SSDs are still very expensive, his whole system was placed on a RAM-disk, extremely fast launch Firefox went from 45 seconds to 1 second. The RAM-drives have the disadvantage of losing all their data if the power is off: it was not a problem for Nelson, as were all the apps and Web Apps that all data was backed up online. Even today, Google boasts that Chrome OS prevents any data loss. But at the time, Google executives were not convinced by the proposed Nelson, who resumed certainly a well-known concept, the thin client, but wanted to get him out of businesses and institutions. The main criticism was the lack of an offline mode, a default set from the local cache with HTML5.

Why Nelson chose WebKit browser rather than Firefox? He does not say, but his choice may be related to the bad reputation of Apple's, she took three years to make open-source WebKit completely. In 2006, WebKit open source was only a few months, while Gecko was eight years. The decision to abandon Opera Presto divided in favor of WebKit web players today, with arguments reminiscent of the time. Some, including Nitot and behind the Mozilla Foundation, worry that the project led by the heavyweights Apple and Google stifles innovation that only competition and guarantee diversity.

They remind Opera is behind many innovations such as tabs, integrated search, gesture shortcuts, "top sites", etc.., A feature that could be erased with this rallying WebKit, piloted by two companies have their own objectives. Others recall with the WHATWG, Apple developers, Mozilla and Opera have greatly evolved in recent years the Web (HTML5, Microdata, etc.), and there is no reason to change that. They point out that while they share the same engine, Safari and Chrome are very different, Google and Apple working on two different JavaScript engines, two different concepts of interface and two different synchronization services. And there is no reason Opera does not continue to distinguish these three aspects.
