Windows 8.2 Rumors: New Start Menu Back

Windows 8.2
Windows 8.2 gets the start menu back. The next major Windows update code-named "Threshold" to be completed in the spring of 2015 and put back more to the classic Windows. Unconfirmed, but very authentic, rumored to be the familiar Start menu should come back to facilitate the users to switch from Windows 7.

In addition to Metro style apps that do not run only in full screen mode, but can also be used on the desktop in a window. Whether the tile surface can be completely banish from a desktop PC at the request or the user can select when setting up his favorite surface is not fixed yet. Already an interim update for Windows 8.1 is intended to give the beginning of 2014 is planned.

Here, it is speculated, Microsoft could already integrate a mini- version of the start menu that provides access to the main functions. In future versions of Windows, Microsoft is supposed to take a three-pronged strategy that is "modern" look, which is to run on Smartphones and tablets, along with a classic desktop version and a version for commercial use.

The desktop version could then come along completely without Metro Painting, the business version, in contrast, offer a choice or operate both worlds parallel. To save development work and also to bring new releases to market faster, the three new versions of Windows is to share a kernel. Who uses Windows 8 or 8.1 and without the classic start menu cannot do, need not have to wait for the next version of Windows.

Already there are numerous tools that bring the classic start menu to the desktop, such as Shell or Classic Start Menu 8 Who else wants to try, since Metro style apps more fun in windowed mode, Modern Mix can use. But that is only free for 30 days. The revived with 8.1 start button leads to the controversial startup screen, which was introduced with Windows 8.

How to lock a folder without Software?

Folder lock
Sharing your PC with another person? Feel your files are being looked upon by them? Or are you being spied by your own sibling. It irritates you right. You can think about hiding the files but you are not interested in downloading software for this purpose alone right?

Everything processes needs software now. You might have seen the AppLock software in your Android phones. We can lock any folder with the help of this software alone. But in case of computers there are some default operations provided by our own computer which we don’t know.

The most common and widely used method to lock a folder using Note Pad;

• Using Notepad:

Do you know locking a folder can be done using our own Note Pad file? The biggest advantage of this method is that you don’t need internet connection for this method. So this is applicable to all OS’s.
The process is very simple and easy too. Just follow these simple steps.

Step 1: Open your Note Pad file. Copy the following code and Paste in it.

cls :
END
@ECHO OFF
title worldtech360 Folder lock /*replace with your desired title */
if EXIST "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
goto UNLOCK
if NOT EXIST Locker goto MDLOCKER
:CONFIRM
echo Are you sure u want to Lock the folder(Y/N)
set/p "cho=>" if %cho%==Y goto LOCK
if %cho%==y goto LOCK
if %cho%==n goto END
if %cho%==N goto END
echo Invalid choice.
goto CONFIRM
:LOCK
ren Locker "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
attrib +h +s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
echo Folder locked
goto End
:UNLOCK
echo Enter password to Unlock folder
set/p "pass=>"
if NOT %pass%==type your password here goto FAIL
attrib -h -s "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
" ren "Control Panel.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}"
Locker
echo Folder Unlocked successfully
goto End
:FAIL echo Invalid password
goto end
:MDLOCKER md Locker echo Locker created successfully
goto End
:End

Now you’ll get a window like this.

Step 1

Step 2: Save the file with .bat extension. While saving you’ll get a window like this right?

Step 2
Save it as “locker.bat” and save it to “All files” as shown.

Step 3: Now close your Note-Pad file. You can see an image in the desktop. It’ll be present as an icon as shown
Step 3

Step 4: Double click on the icon the file will Run and a Private folder will be created right beside it as shown above.

Step 5: All you’ve to do now is move all your files to the private folder.

Step 6: After you’ve moved your files run the locker.bt file again.

There your files are safe and secure now. Nobody can enter the file without your Password.
There’s also another alternative method using the same Note Pad method.

Step 1: First create a folder anywhere in your desired location. Create a folder that is similar to the control panel folders, say for e.g. Mouse

Step 2: Create a notepad file and type the following code in it.
ren Mouse Mouse.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
Save it with .bat as its extension. Save it in the same location where your “Mouse” folder exists.
This code locks the file. And you can move the data that you want to hide from others.

Step 3: To unlock the folder type and save the following code with .bat extension.
renMouse.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} Mouse
When you run this key file you can unlock the folder.
But preferring the first method is better than that of the latter method. Coz your files can be accessed only after entering the password.

SmartLoc software for Android Smartphones

SmartLoc
Four researchers have developed SmartLoc software for Android Smartphones, which will double the positioning in navigation devices, especially in cities virtually. It also saves battery power. These four researchers at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and Tsinghua University in Beijing have developed SmartLoc intelligent software that optimizes the GPS navigation in large cities. In the downtown area, the position determinations by satellite are frequently disturbed by tall buildings.

Conventional devices then determine the position with accuracy of about 40 meters. With SmartLoc, the localization accuracy can almost be doubled. As soon as GPS reception is insufficient, SmartLoc employ the motion sensor of a smart phone instead of GPS in order to calculate the position relative to the last given location via GPS.

The individual movement patterns that occur to the left or right, for example, while crossing a bridge, when braking or accelerating after the turn, are stored in a database and with the current data of the motion sensor and card material, such as Google Maps, then it is adjusted accordingly. When the GPS reception is good, the measurements of the motion sensor are compared with the GPS data to optimize future position determination. The system is not perfect and the refining is going on.

 Factors such as slow traffic, long waits at red lights or jams can distort the distance traveled since it is programmed to calculate the distance with last GPS reception. The training mode is to reduce this error rate with time. The researchers have tested SmartLoc in Chicago, which applies for navigation devices as a nightmare, because of the many high-rise buildings that reflect the GPS signal in the downtown area. Nevertheless, it was possible with SmartLoc to achieve a position accuracy of 20 meters for 90 percent of all test runs. The pure GPS navigation was as accurate in less than 50 percent of the tests. The previously developed software for Android also turns the power-hungry GPS reception at poor values hence it is put off automatically to conserve battery power.

Upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 features exposed

Windows Phone 8.1
With Windows Phone 8 Microsoft is trying to defy the competition of Android and iOS and also to take in the Smartphone market back. By April 2014, the first major win- Phone update is expected. Windows Phone 8.1 is ready to appear with a voice control named Cortana.

While Microsoft 8.1 has rolled out the first major update for PC and tablet users with Windows in October 2013, but the Smartphone owners still waiting for their turn and this is the worst blunder; the manufacturer has indeed been turned off with the three updates( GDR1 , GDR2 and GDR3 ).

 The big jump to 8.1 is yet to happen. According to various reports - including from Microsoft's Mary Jo Foley connoisseur - Microsoft provides the Blue update for Windows Phone before San Francisco developers conference which is going to happen in April. According to a report Microsoft’s Windows Phone will have voice control with the name "Cortana" and is a part of the next major Windows Phone update (version 8.1).

Microsoft’s TellMe service that specializes in telephone voice control serves is the basis to this voice control service. Another option offered Microsoft is the Notification Central which will displays new emails, missed calls and others.

A now been submerged Screenshot confirms the rumor that Microsoft is working on a similar function for Windows Phone 8.1. Also, a screenshot indicates that Microsoft integrates a multiple selection. It could mean setting of folders to organize the many tiles on the home screen.

Digia Releases Qt 5.2 for iOS and Android

Qt
The development environment Qt 5.2 finally manages iOS and Android. The version 5.1 released in early summer provided a preliminary support for the two popular operating systems on mobile devices.

With this new version released last week, the vast majority of Qt API is managed by iOS and Android. However there are some exceptions such as Qt WebKit that cannot be done on iOS because of Apple restrictions.

 Even if everything is perfect and there is still a little work on some points, Digia developers will be able to tackle the management of Windows RT. This version offers preliminary support of the Microsoft operating system.

This is one of the main development of the 5.3 version is already under construction. More than ever, with Qt, the word platform makes sense, even on mobile platforms. Full support for Windows RT is pending. Digia has also made improvements to Qt for desktop operating systems.

This version does not solve all problems with Mavericks and enables Qt Mac Extras integrate native code. You may download this version directly from their site.
