7 Easy and Free Ways to Repair Your Computer At Home

Repair Your Computer At Home
Do you have to repair your computer but don’t have the money and time it takes to be a professional? That’s alright—this can help you fix the seven most common problems for free using the resources that are already available at your home.

1—Run the Anti-Virus

A large number of the problems exist in the modern computers that are caused by viruses slow performance, stalled downloads, and strange errors are all symptoms of the modern computing.
If you already have an anti-virus program installed, it is not guaranteed that it will catch each and every virus before it infects your system. Just like virus in the real world, sometimes computer viruses build enough resistance to get past your defenses.

However, the manufactures of anti-virus software are updating their software to find latest virus constantly, if you run a full disk scan using the anti-virus software, you may find some any active infections.

2—Clean Your Registry

This piece of advice applies especially to the old versions of Windows and computers which had seen a lot of change over the last year.

Each and every time you make an important change in your computer, Windows will update the Registry such as Installing programs, Uninstalling programs, modifying major settings, and a few more things will add information to the Windows Registry without even cleaning it.

As your Registry gets full, it stops to perform well. It slows down the computer, it also gets confused and also even causes conflicts, and it can even crash and take your computer down.

Cleaning the Registry is an easy task and there are plenty of freeware programs available which help you.

3—Safe Mode

Most of the people I’ve talked on this subject seem to have no idea what a safe mode is for. Do you know it? The solution is to fixing major problems with Windows by shutting down some default / primary actions.

Suppose for Instance:
• It prevents programs from starting up automatically, if the problem exists in one of them, you will get to know it immediately.

• It also won’t load any drivers for the most non-essential hardware, if the problem exists in hardware, you will get to know it immediately.
• It can also help you discover the damage caused by the virus, I hope your anti-virus software is well equipped to deal with them.

To enable safe mode, press and hold the F8 key when your computer starts to boot.

4—Blame Windows

Most often the problem with your computer is the operating system, Windows. It does not mean Microsoft has messed it up—it could be that a virus had deleted an important file.

Diagnosing a problem in Windows from within Windows can be challenging task. What you will need is an outside authority—such as Linux.

You can also download it from “Live” Linux CD which will not install anything on your computer but will boot the Linux from the CD (or DVD) which is in your disc drive. I suggest you to use Ubuntu:

Go to the Ubuntu website using a computer, download the current CD or DVD, whatever you prefer (DVDs have more tools but take longer to download), burn the CD or DVD, and insert it in your computer. Reboot your computer and check if it works.

If Linux can get your computer working, then there is nothing wrong with your hardware—then there is something wrong with your Windows, then try the next step.

5—Reinstall Windows

In Windows 95 and 98 days, we usually used to reinstall Windows once a year to keep things going smoothly. The great thing about Windows XP was that it was stable for much longer periods. If a problem occurs in Windows which you cannot be fixed by any way, reinstalling Windows was the best option.
It is necessary to backup all of your important data before you start reinstalling the Windows. If the computer does not boot Windows, use the Linux method specified above to access your data and copy them to an external HDD, or remove the hard drive out of the computer and use an external HDD adapter to copy the data to another computer.

After backing up the data start the reinstallation of windows by inserting the disk in the disk drive and follow the instructions to reinstall windows.

6—Blowing Your Problems Away

If the problem exists with the computer hardware and not the software, there is not much we can do. Most of the modern electronic equipment’s are non-serviceable, so if it’s broke it is just a piece of junk. But there is one way is to bring them back to life is to blow them away.

Blow them away means is to blow the dust of the equipment. Dust is one of the powerful insulators similar to that of wood which is used to retain heat inside the home by not letting the cold into the home in winter season.

When dust holds the heat inside the equipment in turn it makes the equipment’s to malfunction and eventually fail. Most of the modern equipment’s are designed to work only up to 35 Celsius or 110 Fahrenheit before automatically shuts off to prevent fire or severe damage.

Getting rid of the dust will help the parts to function properly. But the parts that have severely damaged due to heat will eventually fail, so don’t expect miracles to happen by blowing the dust away.

To get rid of the is to cover your eyes with a handkerchief and blow air to get rid of the dust without spitting but if you have a vacuum cleaner at home put the cleaner into blow mode and blow the dust away.

Alternatively, you can also buy cans which have compressed air to blow off the dust of the equipment’s.

7—Your Last Resort

If any of the above mentioned advices helped you then it is necessary that you call the manufacturer. Most of the manufactures have a toll free number and it would not cost you a penny for the call. Feel free to call them and get the help of the technical support and even after that the problem persists then they can service your computer for free.

Feel Safe with a Compliance Management System

In every industry, there are regulations in place to foster a safe and healthy working environment. Even an office building will be an inhospitable place to work if certain precautions are not taken, while industrial worksites are obvious hazard zones. For every field there are regulatory boards issuing standards to which firms must comply if they are to maintain accreditation and licensing. These standards are there to protect employees.

Managing Compliance

Keeping up with the rules could be harder than it sounds. Some firms set out to do the right thing, then find out they are only scratching the surface of what they have to be doing to ensure the safety of workers. This is when a compliance management system becomes a business owner's best friend.

Managing the safety aspect of work is frequently accomplished using software these days. Customizable programs enable clients to improve and maintain safety and play by the rules in a short time. This saves clients from hiring consultancy teams and having their place of business audited in person. Such an alternative would cost more money and take longer than referring to a CMS.

Compliance Management System Features

Clients choose programs for particular industries featuring online training modules. A staff member cannot say he watched videos or read text without having done so: there are tests which prove ability and suggest missing pieces in a company's, a team's, or an individual's knowledge of safety practices. The highest standards in a field are used as the yardstick against which managers gauge employee safety.

Auditing

How do you know if you are failing to protect your team? You know because the system audits your safety compliance. Take the classes, the tests, and answer the questionnaires. A compliance management system is a teacher of sorts. As in a classroom, there are times of learning followed by reporting. You will soon see what measures you could take to improve, both practically and legally. Learn what you are good at, how to improve, and how to maintain a no-accident record at work.

The problem for some industries is that they forget rules change as events happen. As a result of accidents and insurance claims, new information is gathered leading to new regulations that protect employees and employers.

These include things like preventing falls, electric shock, or repetitive strain injuries. Changes might have to do with air quality and disposal of chemicals. Scientific research and statistics continue to shed light on how a professional environment can hurt people down the road in unexpected ways. Examples include the installation of non-supportive furniture in an office, poor lighting, or improper waste disposal.
Action, not Reaction

For the small investment you make in software of this kind, you potentially save yourself millions in liability and lots of time, thanks to a user-friendly product.

The latest software does not require a team of IT professionals to run it or provide training. Set it up and get started, receiving plans for how to proceed with training and improvement. Establish programs that line up with regulatory bodies at any level of government.

How to enable God mode in Windows 7 and Vista

Wondering what’s a God mode? You might have heard the term “God Mode” probably in video games. If you haven’t heard about it it’s no big deal, but we all have used it in games without our knowledge. It’s a mode in games where we can boost our life. Remember the cheat code in Vice city that boosts our life when we need it most? It is known as God mode.

Well this God mode is kind of different when it comes to OS. God mode provides a centralized control over your OS. Wouldn’t it be nice to get the entire OS under your control with the help of a single folder? Well God mode helps in providing you with such a feature.

Actually God Mode used to be a hidden administrative shortcut.

Interesting right? Wanna enable god mode in your Windows 7 OS or Vista? Just follow these simple steps to activate it.
God mode -1

Enabling God mode isn’t a big and tough job.

• First create a folder anywhere you like. It may be in your desktop or your C or D colon anywhere you prefer. But Desktop is quite ok.
• Now right click the folder and rename it as God Mode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} (copy it and paste it)
• Now this folder of yours gets converted to a control panel icon and the numbers in it also gets disappeared. You’ll get an icon as shown.

God mode -2
• Now you’ve enabled God Mode. Your process is complete.
• Open the panel to get a view inside.
• You’ll get a view as follows.

God mode -3
• Now all your administrative settings are arranged in a single icon. • Go and explore and change your settings as per your wish.
• Some may think keeping a folder where all your settings are present is not safe. There’s no need to worry if you’ve created such a file. You can move it or delete the folder too.
• There may be a question now. Should it be named only as God mode? The answer is NO. Not necessary. You can also rename it with your name but the numbers should be present.
• It’s referred as God mode since it is suitable for the work it does.

There are enormous amount of god modes in case of windows 7. They serve for each and every different purpose. There are different codes for biometric settings, firewall security etc. God mode enable your tasks to be less complicated. Is it better to access any setting by going into the control panel and searching for it or just going into a single folder where all your options exist? Choose for yourself.

Here are the other list of numbers that can enable all sorts of god modes in your Windows 7.

Now in case of Vista the process is similar. The god mode started to work from Vista version alone. It doesn’t seem to work in the previous versions.

But there is a story behind God mode. We know that it’s an Administrative shortcut. But we don’t know who actually developed it. Some say it’s a work by bloggers while the Microsoft Corporation still maintains it as a secret.

So before enabling God mode in your Vista know about your OS, whether is it a 32 or 64 bit. This is necessary because, Vista 64-bit PC’s has been crashed after enabling Mode. But it is supported by Windows 7. So it’s advisable for Vista 64-bit OS not to enable the God Mode.
